Asia Houston Network recognized two outstanding community leaders: Donna Fujimoto Cole, President and CEO of Cole Chemical; and Elsie Huang, Chair of the Mayor’s International Affairs Development Council – Asia/Australia. Come and celebrate Korean culture at the annual Korean Festival. Asia
Houston Network is pleased to be a co-sponsor for an exciting day of
traditional dances & costumes, music, food, and martial arts. The festival
will take place on Saturday, October 3, from 11 am to 3 pm at the Houston
Community College - Spring Branch campus on I-10 and Beltway 8. Admission

Asian American Summit / Candidate Forum

The Asian American community has been increasing over the last decade both
in numbers and in political participation. This November, the City of
Houston will hold a very important election. The Mayor, Controller and
several Council seats will be open for the first time in six years. Asia
Houston Network will co-sponsor an Asian American Summit/Mayoral Forum. This
event is free and open to the public.
The purpose of this event is to educate the public on issues important to
the Asian American community; and to give the opportunity for candidates of

Women's Self-Defense Seminar & Workshop: Mind, Body & Spirit

It's not about the size or strength, but attitude and skill. Asia Houston Network and Kim Soo Karate hosted the 5th annual Mind, Body & Spirit , a free women's self-defense seminar and workshop. Participants learned how to use leverage, momentum and vital pressure points against an attacker and how to employ practical, easy-to-learn blocks and strikes. Click to view photos.

Asia Houston Network hosted " Sweet Asia " featuring sweet samplings from various Asian countries. This year's event honored Gordon Quan, former Mayor Pro Tem and City Council Member, and Christine Starkman of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Those joining the crowd included Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, City Council Member Peter Brown, Japanese Consul General Tsutomu Osawa, Mandy and William Kao, Jerome Vielman, Thomas Au, Viet Hoang, Hon.
